Kenelm Lewis is a Clinical Director of de Montfort Veterinary Hospital, joining the practice in 1979. He was awarded a RCVS post graduate certificate in radiology in 1984. His main area of interest is surgery, especially orthopaedics. He was President of the Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons in 2003.
Clive Shepherd is a Clinical Director at de Montfort who also runs our Pershore branch. He joined the practice in 1983 and undertook mostly large animal work.
More recently he has taken a step away from farm work and into small animal practice, where he particularly enjoys soft tissue surgery and obstetrics.
Catherine Payne is a Clinical Director at de Montfort. She qualified from Bristol University in 1994 and came to the surgery as a new graduate. She has a particular interest in veterinary medicine, especially feline.
She organises many aspects of the veterinary practice as well as juggling life around her two young boys and black Labradors Megan & Martha.
Pippa graduated from Bristol University in 2011. She spent 3 years in mixed practice before deciding that small animal practice was her true passion.
She joined us at de Montfort in September 2016 and is currently studying for her certificate in Small Animal Surgery.
In her spare time she enjoys riding her horse Arturo and walking her naughty terriers Solo and Loki.
Annabel graduated from the Royal Veterinary College and became one of our Vets in August 2017. However, she is not a new face to the practice as she had been our Vet student for 3 years. She enjoys many aspects of Veterinary work, and is working to expand her knowledge in treating some of our more exotic pets.
In her spare time, she can be found in the gym and enjoys travelling.
Anna qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2015 and joined de Montfort in September 2019. She has a keen interest in medicine, especially feline medicine, and is currently working towards a certificate in Small Animal Medicine.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys horse riding, looking after her three-legged cat Ralph and walking her border terrier Oscar.
Gemma is our head nurse who joined the practice in 2002, as a trainee, and qualified in 2006. She has a keen interest in feline medical nursing and uses her wealth of experience to act as a clinical coach, training the next generation of nurses here at deMontfort. She also heads up our pet pound losing program, chub club, using her enthusiasm in her own personal fitness as inspiration.
Gemma likes to relax in her spare time, walking and looking after her two cats, Harry and Pooki.
Deputy Head Nurse
Alice is our Deputy Head Nurse here at de Montfort and also takes on the role as a clinical coach, training the next generation of Veterinary Nurses. She qualified at a mixed practice in South Wales and has since worked as a small animal and equine nurse in Gloucestershire, before working as a locum here in December 2013. She took on a full time position in February 2014 and since then, amongst other things has developed an interest in radiography.
In her spare time she can be seen competing her horses Joey and Mojo around the country and spending time with her whippet Fly.
Jenny qualified as a nurse in 2010 by completing a degree in veterinary nursing, specialising in behaviour. This involved working two days a week in practice and three days at college over a three year period. Jenny put her degree to good use as our Dogs Trust nurse, working with a variety of patients and their personalities and backgrounds.
She also completed a course specialising in cat behaviour, treatment and care and has been instrumental in helping us achieve our Gold Feline Friendly practice award.
Outside of work, Jenny looks after her two cats Ralph and Ernie, who she rescued through work, Mabel the Labrador, who she took on from Dogs Trust and her two children.
Kirsty joined the practice as an ANA (animal nursing assistant) trainee in 2009, after doing voluntary work with the practice during her A-levels. After completing her ANA training, she began her veterinary nurse training, which she completed in 2012.
Kirsty is interested in medical nursing and the importance of socialization in young animals. When Kirsty first joined the practice, she cared for Tiggy a cat with severe skin problems, which she took home.
Outside of work, Kirsty enjoys walking Kita her parents German shepherd and camping holidays and is kept busy with a troublesome Ponyo.
Jade joined deMontfort in 2014 as a second year trainee, after previously working for a small animal practice in Worcester. Jade enjoys all aspects of her job but particularly caring for our in-patients. She is our rabbit nurse and has several at home.
Outside of work, Jade is kept busy doing long walks with her lively terriers Reggie & Clyde and keeping fit by cycling and running.
Amelia qualified from Harper Adams University as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2015. She arrived at de Montfort in May 2019 and has already become an important part of the nursing team.
In her spare time she enjoys baking cakes and looking after her cat Kiara, who she rescued at her previous practice, and her 3 guinea pigs.
Lee-Anne joined de Montfort Vets in September 2019. Qualifying in 2016 she became a certified small animal nutritionist in 2017. She is an actively involved in our nurse clinics and provides our clients and patients with nutritional advice and support.
She spends her spare time with her husband and family, including the bombastic dogs Ellie the black lab and Bracken her beloved hound cross.
Abby joined the practice in 2017 and qualified in 2020 after completing her training at de Montfort veterinary hospital.
She is passionate about feline nursing and is has a keen interest in dentistry.
Outside of work, Abby enjoys keeping active and looking after her naughty terrier. She also has a 23 year old cat!
Emily is one of our Student Veterinary Nurses and will be starting her studies at Moreton Morrell in September 2019. Originally from Dorset, she adores spending time with her Golden Retriever Max and Cocker Spaniel Milo. Outside of work she likes keeping fit at the gym and cooking. In holiday time loves exploring different countries. She is really looking forward to pursuing her career in Veterinary Nursing.
Georgie joined us in April 2019 as a Student Veterinary Nurse. Moving back to Evesham, where she grew up, she will be starting her studies at Pershore College in September 2019.
She loves to spend time with her friends and family in her spare time; as well as walking her two dogs Macey & Arnie around the Vale and looking after her Rabbits.
Clare has been de Montfort's receptionist since 2000. During that time she has learnt how to run many areas of the practice. Working on reception allows her to interact with people and their pets. She has a keen interest in cat behaviour and loves spending time with her two cats, Sqweege and Noodle Monkey Trousers!
Elmari joined the practice in May 2017 as one of our receptionists. Being originally from South Africa, Elmari has lived and worked in the UK for the past 15 years.
Outside of work, Elmari has 2 small children that keeps her busy. She also loves baking and going for long walks in the countryside
Lis has worked at deMontfort since 2011 as our Pershore receptionist, and has just completed her AMTRA course to become a Suitably Qualified Person. Alongside her work here, she also teaches Animal Care and Dog Grooming at South Worcestershire College, which she has been doing for 4 years now. Outside work, Lis is kept busy with her little girl, 3 elderly horses and her 2 dogs Olive and Stacey.
